KACE® Cloud
Release Notes
January 2026
These release notes provide information about the latest KACE Cloud release.
About this release
KACE Cloud allows you to quickly enroll mobile devices, manage their inventory, and to apply required configurations and policies. You can interact with managed devices using a standard set of commands, such as resetting a password or locking a device, as needed. This cloud-based product helps you implement your entire device management solution quickly, and ensuring that managed devices follow your organization guidelines and standards, while protecting your data integrity.
This release contains three new features and a number of resolved issues. See New features.

New features
The new features are introduced in KACE Cloud:
AI for Scripting
Creating and managing scripts across platforms doesn’t have to be complex— make it simple, fast, and stress-free.
The new Assistant in Scripting simplifies this process by converting natural language prompts into ready-to-use scripts. You can describe your requirements in plain language, and the system automatically generates the script along with key properties such as operating system, language, and description. The AI Assistant also enables you to review suggestions, compare versions, and apply updates with a single click. This feature makes scripting faster, smarter, and less error-prone, allowing you to focus on completing tasks efficiently.

NOTE: To enable AI capabilities for Scripting, navigate to Settings > KACE Cloud > Settings > AI Features in the Admin portal. |
Device Custom Fields
This release introduces Custom Inventory, giving administrators the flexibility to define and collect additional device-specific data during inventory scans. You can create Custom Fields to capture attributes beyond standard inventory and tailor data to your organization’s requirements for improved device management. Custom Fields can be:
- Manual Fields – Editable directly from the device details page and visible for all devices, regardless of operating system.
- Collected Fields – Automatically populated during inventory cycles using collectors. These apply only to Windows and macOS devices and display when the operating system matches the collector.
This enhancement enables more granular categorization and simplifies tracking unique device attributes across your environment.
Multi-Factor Authentication
Strengthen your account security with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)—now enabled by default for new tenants. MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring multiple identity checks, making unauthorized access significantly harder. Administrators can configure MFA for existing tenants through the KACE Cloud Admin Portal, ensuring robust security for critical roles like System Administrator and Device Administrator.
By default, MFA uses email-based verification for first-time setup, and administrators can easily enhance security further by adding advanced authentication methods such as authenticator apps or passkeys. This feature delivers greater confidence and control over account protection.

Enhancements
The following is a list of enhancements implemented in KACE Cloud.
- Support for Self-hosted Dependencies in Scripting
You can now specify an external location for script dependencies instead of uploading them to KACE Cloud. The dependency file must be hosted in a location accessible without authentication, and administrators are required to provide a checksum to ensure file integrity and protect against tampering. This enhancement offers greater flexibility and security when managing script resources. - Improved Device App Filtering
This enhancement introduces the ability to filter device applications using the app identifier instead of the app name. By leveraging identifiers, smart labels that use this filter become more efficient. - Reporting Enhancements
We have introduced significant improvements to the reporting module to enhance data clarity, consistency, and usability. These updates provide cleaner data, better categorization, and improved visibility across all device types, making reports more accurate and actionable.
